This results ina more rugged probe.The larger diameter of the probe body alsoprovidesa stronger, more robust case. Werecommend that you use8 mm probes whenpossible to provide optimal robustness againstphysical abuse.Each 3300 XL extension cable includessilicone tape that you can use instead ofconnector protectors. We do not recommendsilicone tape for applications that will exposethe probe-to-extension cable connection toturbine oil.The 3300-series5 mm probe (refer toDocument 141605) uses smaller physicalpackaging, but does not reduce the side viewclearances or tip-to-tip spacing requirementsas compared to an 8mm probe.
